Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Les Murgers des Dents de Chiens" 2004, Vincent Girardin

The photo looks weirdly superimposed but its genuine -- we tasted this wine at an excellent fish restaurant called Back to Basics in Fitzrovia, London. Light yellow, reflective and a green tint. The first aroma offered pear, lemon, oak, and a hint of lime. The nose remained tight and concentrated without much evolution. On the palate the wine was fruity and tangy, with fairly high acidity, attack on the upper palate, a rich texture, apple and cherry tomato flavours, and a soupcon of minerality. This wine is like a well-behaved 2 year-old child: plenty of good qualities but its hard to read the future personality. One to cellar until 2010.
