Vosne-Romanee "Aux Reas" 1999, A-F Gros

Tasting notes from new contributor Jezza. Opened and decanted over an hour before drinking. this wine has a reasonably deep purple colour with few signs of any age. However, signs of evolution are clear on the nose. Good fruit backbone with elements of raspberries and plums but also a good bit of peatiness too. Smooth tannins on the palate with medium acidity. This wine is now at its best although could easily remain this good for another 2-3 years. The photo is from the domaine and shows their vineyard on May 20, 2007.
