Chambolle-Musigny 2005, A-F Gros

Reflective red/purple. Fairly closed, mineral, rich trappings of red and black berry fruit. Suave texture. Fresh finish and fine tannins. Floral notes from the empty glass. Fruit balances well with the oak tannins from 50% new oak barrels which the domaine sources from several coopers. Overall the wine is still tight in its shell and needs 3 years to fill out on the fruit and release a broader range of aromas. Tasted at the domaine.
