Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Goulots" 2005, Heresztyn

Deep ruby colour which is highly reflective. Cassis and ripe raspberry on the nose -- a step up in ripeness from the Gevrey village wines. Background nutmeg and oak aromas with wafts of vanilla creeping in from time to time. Very rich and ripe black berry fruit on the palate with a velvety texture. A good fresh tannin finish and long tubular fruit flavour. This premier cru captures the slightly over-ripe berry fruit of the 2005 vintage and promises to deliver excellent drinking from 2010 until 2015. Tasted at the domaine.
