Pommard 1er Cru "Les Pezerolles" 2005, A-F Gros

Medium to thick, rich pinot colour. Savoury, pheasant, orange rind, vanilla. The nose then opens up to cherry and mint. In the mouth this Pommard has a solid structure with tightly-wrapped cherry/plum fruit. Likely very long lasting. Muscular style in a classic way. Reminiscent of a handsome javelin thrower (if one exists). This is benchmark Pommard and while turned inwards at the moment will be superb in 3 years time. The extra layers of aroma already hint at a special future.
