Morey-Saint-Denis 1999, Domaine Dujac

This Morey-based domaine is a quality producer with relatively small holdings in the Cote de Nuits. The Morey village is their benchmark wine. Thick cherry red colour, raspberry coulis and raspberry liqueur aromas, even kir royal, then wild strawberry with a centre of Medjool dates and sprinklings of demerera, spiced orange and cinnamon. Good balance, a slick and elegant wine but not much grip and not typical for a Morey from a robust year like 1999.
