Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" 2006, Ghislaine Barthod

Positioned fairly high up the golden slope and contiguous to "Bonnes Mares" this wine should be more hefty than the suave and seductive Chambolle 1er crus on the southern Musginy side of the village. True to type the limpid cherry red colour gives way to a reticent nose of hard-to-isolate red and black berries wrapped in oak. Oaked strawberries, a big structure and finesse from ripe berry fruit. This wine hasn't yet decided what it will be but its certainly more masculine than its elegant sister wine "Les Véroilles" and needs plenty of bottle-ageing. Pop the cork from 2012.
