Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Chenevottes" 2006, Jean-Noël Gagnard

Jean-Noël has officially retired and his daughter Caroline Lestimé has taken over wine-making and cellar management. This Chenevottes opens on pineapple and green melon, its a little honeyed and creates a suave silk cravat-wearing impression. Slightly strange texture and hard to comprehend on the palate. Not showing well. The Domaine Jean-Noel Gagnard wines will need to be revisited on this showing since they do have a good repuatation. Their Bâtard-Montrachet 2006 is more impressive but still hard to deipher the true quality.
