Nuits-Saint-Georges 2003, J. Confuron-Cotéditot

Yves Cotéditot makes wine for the domaine and other tastings have revealed Nuits to be the best pinot wines from the hot vintage of 2003. Having splashed out on this wine I hoped it would confirm the trend... and it did. Medium cherry showing a little age on the edge. Blood orange, baked pheasant, lavender, herbal; dried small fish, red cherry, raspberry, dry wood; on the palate savoury, a little tart, but finesse, excellent fragrant fruit, raspberry. Not necessarily a wine to seek out but well-made given the tricky vintage. Drink before 2010. The photo shows the etiquette and the the North West London Wii tennis doubles final in the background.
