Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Vignes Blanches" 2003, Domaine Cordier

We tasted the Pouilly-Loché 2006 from Domaine Cordier and found it to be a very well made wine. This significantly more expensive Pouilly-Fuissé 2003 was also a hit. Medium yellow colour, initial aromas of vanilla and lemon, then switches to lime, ripe apple, apricot and cinnamon. Flavours of cream, vanilla, medium acidity, nutmeg and a touch of residual sugar. Great wine making control to produce an elegant style in the super-hot 2003 vintage. Nevertheless its not a complex wine and I'm sure 2004 or 2006 have more to offer.
