Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru "Champs Chevret" 2006, Tollot-Beaut

Savigny is one of the most characteristic wines typically dominated by cherry flavours. I didn't pick up any cherry on this Tollot-Beaut offering. A closed nose made one conjure up an image of an iron portcullis which graduated onto high-toned loganberry (if you have never tried one its like a sour raspberry-blackberry clone) and sous bois. Lacks fruit ripeness and depth. I assume this will improve and stabilize but not tasting great right now.
