Puligny-Montrachet 2002, Louis Carillon

He is the man -- Louis Carillon himself. His Puligny is considered to be one of the classics, trying to be nothing but excellent Puligny. And this 2002 hit the bulls eye. Straw yellow. Fragrant vanilla, hazelnut, trompettes and chanterelles wild dried mushrooms. Concentrated mirabelle plum, ripe lemon, fresh, mouth-filling, intense and mineral. Great with food now but will continue to evolve and improve for the next 5 years. A finer wine than the Domaine Leflaive Puligny 2001. A cracking wine that lives up to its reputation.
