Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Clos du Meix" 2005, Domaine Hubert Lamy

This white 2005 has an interesting pinkish tinge -- the sort of bloom one sees sometimes on the skin of an apricot. Gentle aromas of peach, water melon and vanilla. Hints of white pepper, white honey and Chanel egoiste. Lovely ripe and rounded spicy pear and apple sauce fruit. Shrouded in tannins and just enough acidity to support evolution. Tasted last year this 2005 was a blast of fruit-driven concentration. Its now in the transition to a more complex and savoury style. Hold off until 2010 when it will emerge from its shell.
