Mâcon-Azé 2006, Louis Jadot

The Louis Jadot domaine is one of the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy with 150 hectares in total and 70 hectares of the Côte d'Or. This négociant house has a phenomenal range of premier cru and grand cru vineyards. This Mâcon-Azé is not one of these stellar wines! Its just a Mâcon-Villages with the village name appended. There is a nose of charentais melon, citrus, white pepper and pear. The aromas are there but not overwhelming. Rich and heavy on the palate -- the house style. This wine is very drinkable but too heavy which makes for dull drinking from the second glass onwards.
