Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru "Clos de Chapitre" 2009, Follin-Arbelet

The Clos de Chapitre is in the middle of the tiny hamlet of Aloxe and used to be a monopole of the Follin-Arbelet domaine. Now they have half of the lieu dit. Aromas of cherry, plum, it is structured with oak from 25% new oak barrels. Fresh cherry, plums. Harvested from September 7th. This is a good fruit-driven 2009 Aloxe without being over-ripe. The domaine doesn't filter their wines which can make for some stunningly medieval sensations, such as poacher's crotch. Tasted courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy 2009 tasting.
