Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "La Petite-Chapelle" 2009, Rossignol-Trapet

This vineyard is a couple of hundred yards below Clos de Bèze on the southern side of the village. The aromas stand out with a blue theme: blue fruits, plums, blueberry, blue notes. Really super fruit depth on the nose as if you can sniff through several layers of blue fruits. Sweet on the palate but kept under control. An refreshing touch of orange sanguine with savoury structure at the finish. Very well made, expressive of the vintage and the terroir. Chapeau! Tasted courtesy of the Corney & Barrow Burgundy 2009 tasting.
