Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Clos des Porrets" 2009, Henri Gouges

The Domaine Henri Gouges is one of the famous estates in Nuits-Saint-Georges which produces nothing except NSG. I enjoyed a Nuits-Saint-Georges 2005 at the Fat Duck last year and the Nuits-Saint-Georges 2004 was an intriguing wine in a tricky year. This NSG 1er Cru 2009, aged in 20% new oak barrels, is very fragrant, light red fruits. There is a cherry finish, medium structure. A moderately successful wine but not impressive.
