Nuits-Saint-Georges 2009, Henri Gouges

This NSG 2009 is a little green, cranberry and rhubarb on the nose. A severe contrast with the sweeter pinots from neighbours like Robert Chevillon. Was this harvested too early in a year when picking early was a temptation to avoid over-ripe wines? It is attractively delicate but has an odd structure, The Calista Flockhart of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Tasted courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy 2009 tasting.
