This Volnay domaine owns 15 hectares of vineyards and is reputed to produce some of the best premier cru Volnay. My experience of the
2004 tasted blind was not great but I fell in love with the
Champans 2008. This Clos des Angles confirms my high esteem for this top quality domaine. Violets, raspberry, blueberry, lovely blue and purple sensations. A truly exciting wine. Fruit layer with a lighter floral layer on top. Fantastic concentration of fruit, a mild hint of cocoa. Full structure. This wine frankly could be guzzled as soon as it is released in 2011.
