Vosne-Romanée 2009, François Lamarche

The Domaine François Lamarche has a phenomenal range of wines. Founded in 1797, one presumes a bourgeois acquisition of clerical and noble vineyards after the decapitations and repossesions of the Revolution, the Lamarche family owns vineyards in Clos de Vougeot, Grands-Echezeaux, Echezeaux, four Vosne premiers crus, a Nuits-Saint-Georges premier cru and this Vosne villages. Briar, cherry, vanilla. A really engaging perfume and with fragrant 2009 aromas. Gorgeous concentration, a superb structure rolled on top of a duvet of rich black fruits. Gorgeous.
