Ladoix 1er Cru "Les Gréchons et Foutrières" 2006, Capitain-Gagnerot

I decided to risk opening another bottle of this Ladoix 1er Cru after the most recent bottle tasted in January was on the verge of being undrinkable. I am suspicious about the composite plastic closure (instead of natural cork) being used. This bottle has aromas of apples, pears, its waxy and not very expressive. Broad, resiny, hints of banana flavours on the palate. The fruit verges on tropical with rich underlying peach fruit. An aubergine skin bitterness on the finish and wax coating. Given that artificial composite corks are intended to avoid bottle variation and oxidization the closures used by Capitain-Gagnerot are an abysmal failure. This wine is completely different from the two other bottles tasted (all bought from the domaine) and none of them are representative of Ladoix. Argghhh!
