Savigny-lès-Beaune 2006, Denis Boussey

The Denis Boussey domaine is located in Monthélie and they have a wide range of wines from the Côte de Beaune. The focus is on quality at an affordable price -- the Meursault was enjoyable without being impressive. This pinot noir Savigny continues to deliver well-made wines. Typical Savigny cherry aromas followed by layers of strawberry and cherry fruit, blood orange, ends on a savoury structure. Coming to the end of its evolution. This Savigny villages is made with too much new oak (25-30%) for my taste.
