Meursault "Clos de la Barre" 2009, Domaine des Comtes Lafon

This lieu-dit is intimately connected with the Domaine des Comtes Lafon since the family home is located in the Clos de la Barre. Tasted from the barrel this Meursault 2009 has noticeable weight on the palate in part a result of the age of the vines in the Clos de la Barre (the grapes from the younger wines are vinified in the Meursault). Concentrated, powerful and driven by ripe citrus flavours. This Clos de la Barre will required at least 5 years to fully open up. Worth comparing with the Clos de la Barre 2007 tasted blind. Photo shows a rare glimpse of Dr Burgundy walking on the edge of Clos de la Barre.
