Monthélie 1er Cru "Les Duresses" 2009, Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Dominique Lafon was kind enough to let the Burgoblog team taste at the domaine in Meursault even though there is not wine available to buy sur place. We started with this Monthélie pinot from 2009. Good minerality, black fruits and berries on the nose which continues on the palate. Fresh finish and more subtle structure than one often finds on Monthélie which can be rustic. Generally 2009 will be good for Monthélie because the riper fruits balance out the sometimes harsh tannins associated with the terroir.
