Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2002, Domaine Blain-Gagnard

This Chassagne domaine has a phenomenal list of grands crus and premiers crus reaching all the way up to Le Montrachet. We were treated to this Bâtard by Jenson Buttonhurst (captured above next to his vehicle of choice) at a Burgundy planning dinner. What does the Domaine Blain-Gagnard have to offer with its Bâtard 2002? White flowers, vanilla, a touch of white peach. Aromas reminiscent of a great uncle's dusty loft complete with Hornby set and chipboard. Rich, weighty, pear and peach fruit, long, fresh, finesse, good fat, very good wine although lacks star quality.
