Musigny Grand Cru 1998, Jacques Prieur

Since a 4 hour cellar tasting back in 2003 the Domaine Jacques Prieur in Meursault has been a big favourite. The best question during the tasting: "Vous voulez gouter notre Montrachet?" Musigny is in my opinion, the most elegant pinot. Rich aubergine colour, multi-layered, violets, licorice, savoy cabbage, cherry, really charming impression, perfumed. On the palate aubergine, rye bread, tremendous cherry and plum fruit, suave, fresh, balanced, crunchy, limestone, excellent structure. This is a fascinating wine and beautiful to behold.
