Pouilly-Fuissé 2009, Domaine Bourdon

I'm a fan of Pouilly-Fuissé when it is fresh and fruity not blousy and flabby. In the warm and sunny 2009 vintage wine-makers needed to take extra care not to harvest over-ripe grapes. This Pouilly-Fuissé from Domaine Bourdon errs on the side of over-ripeness. A pear and peach nose which is indulgent. Broad and verging on squashes and asperges blanches cooked in lemon juice water. Very soft, plump, low acidity, agreeable but fat. Lacks energy on the palate. 18/30 for the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation.
