Volnay 2007, Bitouzet-Prieur

This village appellation Volnay is a good representation of the 2007 vintage. Red ruby colour, reflective, bright, fragrant nose or ripe red currant and raspberry. Flora, dried forest leaves (pleasant), hints of vanilla, pencil lead. Fresh, soft fruits, linear, but a solid and broad finish with nice weight. Even something to chomp on at the end. Lovely juicy pinot berry fruit. Shows that the village level 2007s have now come alive. Must be the lunar cycle... This scores 22/30 for a Volnay appellation.
