Bourgogne Blanc 2009, Coche-Dury

Jean-Francois Coche-Dury is one of the legendary white Burgundy producers. Like most of the top domaines, with only 9 hectares and producing 3,500 cases, this stuff is hard to find. So its a case of tacking down people with allocations. Happily we found a bottle of the regional chardonnay and the excellent Gevrey restaurant Chez Guy. Leaps out of the glass, floral, spicy, very rich, cooked lemon, rich, luxurious, great concentration, vanilla yoghurt, very long and exciting. Scores 28/30 for the Bourgogne blanc appellation. The only better Bourgogne blanc is the... well that will remain a secret.
