Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Caillerets" 2004, Domaine Guy AMIOT

I can still remember tasting at this Chassagne domaine back in 2006, nestled on the edge of the village towards Santenay. For those interested in understanding the evolution of a wine, here are the notes for a variety of 2004 whites from the domaine dating back to December 2010March 2010, October 2007 and July 2007. Lemon, icing sugar, creme patissiere, hints of vanilla, very fine, superbly integrated lemon, clementine, pear and peach. Excellent balance and finesse. Very stylish. Still has energy. An excellent wine which captures the essence of 2004 and has become finer over time, losing some of the busty ripe fruit. Rates an impressive 25/30 for the Chassagne 1er Cru appellation.
