Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Chenevottes" 2011, Jean-Noel Gagnard

Since 1989 this domaine has been very competently managed by Jean-Noël Gagnard's daughter Caroline Lestimé. Whilst the domaine's vineyard holdings at 9.42 hectares are small for a recognized producer, the domaine is remarkable for the breadth of Chassagne premiers crus that it vinifies: no less than 9 whites! Tasted courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks annual Burgundy tasting, this Chassagne "Chenevottes" 2011 premier cru has a lemon/orange bouquet, there is a hint of cream and a dribble of yoghurt, perhas even a little apricot. Soft and open on the palate with a lime kick on the finish. Definitely a wine to drink young. Good. Scores 19-21/30 for a Chassagne premier cru.
