Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Morgeot" 2011, Marquis de Laguiche

Another wine from the Marquis de Laguiche label produced by Maison Joseph Drouhin. I always find there is a sense of power and glory in the Marquis de Laguiche wines. These are wines to be imbibed with a high tea at The Ritz (forget about the darjeeling!) or in the wonderfully-refurbished Savoy. There is orange, there are cloves and nutmeg gratings. Real excitement. This is a rich, heady, potent wine. Hefty finish. Ideal with lobster and scallops. Luxurious. Scores 23-25/30 for a Chassagne 1er Cru.
