Bourgogne Haute Côte de Beaune 2010, Remi Rollin

The Domaine Remi Rollin is located in the quiet and pretty village of Pernand-Vergelesses. Nestled in a tributary valley of the Saône, the soil has more rock than the rest of the Côte which makes the whites more structured and the higher elevation means the wines have more acidity compared to their brethren on the valley floor in Savigny and Beaune. This Hautes-Côte, from vineyards above Pernand represents this terroir. A creamy flavour, lemon, fresh, apple, mandarin. Crisp but not tart with bright fruit on the yellows and greens. Perfect companion with a prawn, apple and mango salad. Scores 23 / 30 for a Hautes-Côtes Blanc.
