Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" 2008, Vincent Dauvissat

The fifth wine tasted blind, this Chablis stood out like a sore thumb when compared with the other wines from the Côte d'Or. This Chablis premier cru from the esteemed Vincent Dauvissat domaine has a light yellow colour, its nose was obviously more closed than the other wines (always a give-away for Chablis in a blind tasting). After 10 minutes there are aromas of courgette, green apple it is sappy and green. High acidity sharp, tart, linear, lime on the finish. This is not a bad wine but in the august company of Chassagne, Meursault and Puligny it does not show well. Also, surprisingly green and linear for 2008 which was a relatively ripe year. Scores 23/30 for a Chablis 1er Cru.
