Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" 2011, Guy Amiot

The "En Cailleret" premier cru lieu dit is in the middle of the Chassagne premier cru vineyards south-east of the village. This is rated as one of the finer premier cru vineyards. Tasted at the domaine in mid-July 2013, this white Chassagne "Les Caillerets" starts on ripe apple and Victoria pear aromas with a touch of apricot reflecting the house style. Round and rich with good acidity this is a sumptuous wine with a super range of ripe citrus flavours. The lieu dit receives a lot of afternoon sun and the grapes are small and concentrated when harvested. This Chassagne 1er Cru 2011 really impressed the panel of Bourgoblog tasters and scores 26/30 for a Chassagne premier cru.
