This premier cru lieu dit in Vosne is next to Le Richebourg and commands appropriate respect. The quality of the terroir and its sunny exposition is clear as this 2010 Vosne premier cru offers a ripe black chery nose, a smooth high-quality pinot grape texture, ripe plums and cherry flavours. Whilst having a good solid structure this Vosne is also linear and fresh. Requires at least 3 years more to fully flesh out and develop tertiary aromas on the nose. But could age gracefully for another 10-15 years. Will ultimately be more savoury than fruit-driven. Scores 22-26/30 for a Vosne 1er Cru. Tasted at Domaine Michel Gros.
