Puligny-Montrachet 2015, Bachelet-Monnot

This domaine has a significant following with imbibers and merchants alike. Must be worth visiting from Bourgoblog HQ in Puligny this year. Tasted at the annual Justerini & Brooks Burgundy tasting this 2015 Puligny has a full on lemon nose, open already, ripe, touches of satsuma. Very drinkable, plump, medium minus acidity, fruit weights masks the minerality. A delicious wine in the vein of the crowd-pleasing 2008s yet lacking the soul of a true Puligny. a big redeeming feature is the appetising price, especially for a 2015. Will drink well from 2018 onwards. Scores 70-73/100 with potential improvement from a better balance between the acidity and ripe fruit appearing over time.
