Meursault "Grands Charrons" 2009, Prunier-Bonheur

It's true that your common or garden Meursault should not be kept for more than seven years. So let's say this is 1 or 2 years past its prime. But if one never tries a wine which could be over the hill, it's impossible to know what happens and why they should be consumed earlier. This Meursault 2009 has a lemon sponge nose surrounded by autumn apples, thick afternoon sunshine, it's fairly rich with a touch of marzipan and candied papaya. Rounded, salt, a little chubby going on flabby, pleasing length and a rich honeyed finish. Scores 70/100 and has reached its apogee.
