Saint-Romain "La Combe Bazin" 2010, Prunier-Bonheur

This domaine is on the road between Meursault and Auxey and it's a top place to go for a tasting. When I bought this wine the tasting was going well except for the fact that Peter Broadthurst kept suggesting that all the wines had been opened days earlier ("It' reductive!") and forced Pascal to open fresh bottles. Still, the team made heavy investments due to the reasonable prices. And this 2010 Saint-Romain has aged gracefully. An initial nose of red apple, caraway seeds, vanilla, chalk. There is a good medium structure. Cherry stones, simple, enjoyable, balanced, slightly dry chewy finish. Scores 64/100 and has reached its peak.
